ROSIE'S NORTHTOWN CAFE

As part of my graphic design capstone experience at Truman State University, I rebranded Rosie’s Northtown Cafe, a favorite spot in Kirksville for French toast, hot beef, pie, and so many more homemade dishes and treats. I chose to feature these foods in illustrated form, utilizing classic diner colors and patterning. I practiced tactile lettering in my rebranding campaign, using fun materials like rose petals, syrup, and even an actual pie to form the logo. I also designed a new menu and a pie box design for all their delicious pies. “Everyone is family at Rosie’s” couldn’t be truer with the branding materials I created for this wonderful restaurant. This project included preliminary client meetings, over 100 hours of work, production meetings to provide insight from classmates, and a final display at the Sue Ross Arts Center in Kirksville (where the entire community could participate). Scroll down to see sketches and my process for creating the logo and slogan.
