ABOUT ME!
My name is Kayla Decker, and I grew up in Kansas City but recently moved to Oklahoma City to work for Hobby Lobby Corporate as a Graphic Designer. I graduated from Truman State University in 2021 with a BFA in Graphic Design and a BA in Marketing. I enjoy creating hand-lettered pieces, digital illustrations, and custom greeting cards. I also like turning my designs into paintings. In my free time, you can find me thrifting, reading, and creating new recipes. Read below to learn about me as a designer:

My mantra when designing is "Design with intention." Each design I make is carefully crafted, and I pay close attention to conceptual meaning, viewer perception, emotional appeal, and design principles. With a background in both design and marketing, the meaning behind why individuals react to design in certain ways is immensely intriguing to me. With a strong typographic foundation, vivid and bold colors, and dynamic illustrations, my designs are polished and professional. I am inspired by designers who experiment with type and use it to enhance the meaning of their work. Design is a practical art form that tells a story and persuades an audience to follow a call to action. Design is powerful if done with intention.
